A Historic Mission of Cleanliness and Dedication at Androth Island

In a remarkable demonstration of teamwork, public health commitment, and environmental responsibility, Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Androth, has made history by achieving the World Record for the Maximum Number of Coconut Husks Collected by a Group. This extraordinary accomplishment took place on 13 October 2025 at the serene yet vibrant Androth Island in Lakshadweep, India.

The mission began as an essential mosquito control initiative, aimed at safeguarding the health of the island’s residents. From 2 October 2025 to 6 October 2025, a dedicated team of 47 medical staff members united with a single goal—to clean and protect their community.

Over the course of five intense days, the team meticulously collected a staggering three lakh rat-bitten coconut husks spread across 4.98 km² of the island. These husks, known to create breeding grounds for mosquitoes, posed a serious public health concern. The medical staff’s relentless effort not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also played a vital role in controlling mosquito populations and preventing vector-borne diseases.

Their hard work, discipline, and community spirit earned them a prestigious place in the Worldwide Book of Records, marking their achievement as a global benchmark in collective environmental action.

This inspiring story from Androth Island stands as a shining example of how determination, unity, and a commitment to public health can transform an entire community—and even set a world record.
